WALKING WITH GOD
God as Painter of Our Lives
- Adam R. Cole // November 23, 2008
This weekend has been amazing...just to see God at work. In the autumn colors, in the moments between two people where you experience perfect mutual growth, and especially in the moments we come to celebrate friendship and His essence in our lives.
We held a coffee house jam on Saturday night. Just people…sharing their hearts, sharing things that God had inspired them to say and sing. Hearing personal testimony – backed up in the passion of lyrics. Talents and skills…each one varying….but all of them trying to do one thing—glorify God.
We all come from some place and from somewhere…each of us with a unique story – unified in Christ (for those that believe on Him). That uniqueness shows the fairness and fatherly element of God in that it gives light to the fact that He knows no race, no economic status, no prejudices whatsoever, in whom He chooses to bestow His divine grace on.
And today, on the Lord’s day, I was able to take a homeless guy out for some coffee…Chris. I had met Chris when we first starting delivering the breakfast burritos but have not seen him in this entire time move forward in a pursuit of getting stable situation. Christ and I talked life and talked about the Bible, about striking down the road of the narrow path. We talked about him getting a shave and tidying up his clothes – important principles for the job hunter. He confessed two things: 1.) he hadn’t been trying hard enough for a job 2.) he had realized that he had known Christ but had not been giving his heart to Him.
And now the week begins…know the Lord will be with me and all of throughout the week.
With Thanksgiving looming, the key is to be in a spirit of thanks, for He is always good.
