Out On The Pier (1980)

I wrote this little poem thing shortly after I came to be known by Jesus. I was a something of a "Jesus Freak" for a few years, but would soon be drawn into the eye-candy of the world: video games and body-building. I wasn't being mentored by anyone... I began to have many theological questions; after a few more years, I fell into a cult called "Christian Science" for anwers... but this didn't last long... something didn't seem right. On this cold night in 1980, I was deeply disturbed in spirit about human identity, sexual issues, and my destiny in life through Jesus Christ. I wrote this poem a few days later after that night of reflection on the fishing pier....
