Be Rooted in Christ and Forever Thankful

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. —Colossians 2:6-7
Some of us can recall that moment vividly, when Jesus Christ came into our hearts and changed us forever. For most, that changing was a slow and steady process, one where His Word and His Way made its way into our soul and began convicting us on a number of life aspects.
When we first received Christ, we died with Him and then were allowed to live in Him, living the light that He shined before men.
With that, we are given a calling: to hold close to Him, to continue on in the way that He has perfectly shaped us and molded us to be vessels of honor for God.
Sometimes we forget that a walk with Jesus is an ongoing thing, is an everyday thing and a life thing. If we are one with Christ, we must be abundantly faithful and overflowing with thankfulness, among everything else that comes with being in Him: humility, righteousness, love, servanthood.
Root yourselves in Him, for today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Praise: That He called us to live in Him and that He wants to continue to seek Him daily.
Prayer: That we always center ourselves in Him, so that we are overflowing with His way.
Prayer for Today: God, thank You for today, as every day. Thank You for saving us, rejuvenating our lives in You. May we never forget that and be overflowing with thankfulness each day because of that. We seek to express that spirit of thanks, thanks for You, to all that we meet. Fill us with Your eternal gratitude for Your eternal grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
